Course Description:
The objective of this course is to help students understand and analyze basic transmission line problems containing voltage, current and power transmission analysis using distributed element model. And also to analyze the effect of mismatch between generator and load with transmission line on power transmission. The students will be taught to design the matched transmission line system by using lumped (capacitor and inductor) and distributed (stubs) elements analytically and using smith chart. Some of the labs will be performed on microwave trainer having rectangular and circular waveguides, and cavity resonator, etc.
